<BD>Strategram</BD> is a game of strategy. Strategram is a two-person board game. Strategram is a game of perfect information where the players are always aware of their current position and the sequence of moves that preceded this position.
In Strategram, the ultimate decision a player makes is choosing the next move.
<COL=RED><BD>Objective:<NM>
Swap places with your opponent. Assemble your entire configuration in exactly the same formation in which it began the game - King surrounded by Pawns.
<COL=RED><BD>Players:<NM>
Two players. Each player may be a human competitor or a computerized opponent. Several different skill levels are available via the <BD>Who Plays</BD> command under the <BD>Actions</BD> menu.
<COL=RED><BD>Board:<NM>
8 x 8 latticed board.
<COL=RED><BD>Pieces:<NM>
Each player has a total of nine pieces consisting of eight Pawns and one King. These pieces never leave the field of play.
<COL=RED><BD>Movement:<NM>
All pieces move in the same manner. The allowed moves are:
<COL=BLACK><BULLET>A single, lateral <BD>step</BD> to an empty adjoining cell in either a row or a column:

<BULLET>A lateral <BD>jump</BD> over another piece to an empty cell in either a row or a column:

<BULLET>Multiple lateral jumps are allowed only if each jump component is legal and only if they are continually linked:

A combination of a single step with a jump is not allowed.
A diagonal single step or jump is not allowed.
A move can not end on an occupied cell, nor can it begin from an empty cell.
